Hi All
Yes we are alive, I know it has been almost 3 Months! (ok so it has been ages) I do have heaps of excuses for not writing and the best one I will use is that we have been having to much fun to write any updates
What I will do now though is back date you on what has happened……….. Take your mind back 3 months………………. (fade slowly into a mind bubble and que soft music)
Our 6 year anniversary
Kieran and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary yep that’s right its been 6 years. We went out to dinner to a local restaurant that we always walk past just down the street and always say how nice it looks inside. So we decided to go there for dinner. It is a French restaurant called chez kristof . As this place was a French restaurant it was expensive so to save some money we ordered from the alacart menu. The food was very different, I don’t know if we will go the again but it was good to go there just once, otherwise we would be wondering what it was like for ever.
St Paddys day - March 17th
This day started and ended very messy. We planed to have people around and have a BBQ with meat we bought from the Irish butchers. Coraline (French housemate) had gotten up early and went down to Hammersmith while she was there they were handing out big Guinness signs and
hats, she brought them back and hung them up in the hall before anyone else was awake was nice to wake up to a very Irish start to the day. If you need a reminder that’s the night Kieran and Mel got out of control and stole 9 leprachaun hats, Irish flags, Shamrock stickers off the windows and pretty much anything they could get there hands on in the pub, needless to say they were on there own and unsupervised by a responsible adult at the time.
Hyde park
Today was a nice day so instead of wasting a weekend we decided we would go and have a walk around Hyde park. It is a big park, it wasn’t
packed but it was busy with all the roller bladders, kids running around and just people sitting on the grass. They even have areas where you can bring your horse and ride it around the park (crazy old fashion). In the pond in the middle you can hire row boats or the kind you peddle. Kieran and I were going to do it but when we got to where you hire them the line was massive.
We saw a whole bunch of squirrels in a squirrel tree (scientific name). We tried to take photos but they are so quick u cant get good ones of them, I think they hate getting their photo taken.
We finished the day with a pub meal and a pint (almost the normal thing to do now)
Easter came and Went
Thanks Cavell for sending over some eggs and the wonderful Tim Tams ahhh we love them. Happy Belated Easter everyone.
Easter also was a big weekend we started drinking on the Thursday night with everyone in the house apart from the Frenchies (who told us to be quiet). The Thursday then led onto the Friday.
Cambridge vrs oxford boat race. - April 7th
The Saturday in the Easter long weekend. Today Kieran was working and I was going to watch the rowing race. The race didn’t start till 4:30pm as they have to wait for the tide to rise enough to race. Its really interesting to see how low it does get.
I started the day by walking round to Lloydy’s (from topdeck trip) place
to meet up with him and head down to the river at Putney to watch the start of the race. It was a good day out with drinking in the park, a bit of gridiron throwing and then some Frisbee. While down in the park at the rivers edge you could see all the uni guys with
their cardigans draped over their backs and tied at the front and they spoke ever so proper.
The race ended with Cambridge winning, then continued back to Lloydys for some more beer and pizza. Kieran had finished work and I met her in a pub back at Putney where we had been for most of the day to have a few more drinks with Pete and Nat (friends we made through Mel (flatmate)) It was in that crazy pub where we met a funny guy name doodle who loved to dance.

Aintree Grand Nationals - April 14th
This is Englands big horse race kinda like the Melbourne cup but more mental. It is a steeple chase so the horses have to jump over 30 fences and 2 waterways over a 4 mile course. 40
Horses start and not all of them finish, I don’t know how many finished this year. We sat around outside had another bbq as we sat on the lounges (from inside) outside with the telly on watching. I placed a bet of £2 each way on Slim Pickings (odds 33-1) and wouldn’t you know it he came in 3rd I won £18 it was a good day.

Saw wicked the musical – April 16th
Mel was leaving soon and she had not yet seen a musical/play in London. As a gift ( and Kieran and I wanted to go) Kieran and Nat bought Mel a ticket to go see wicked It is about the life of the wicked witch of the west and if she was always really the wicked one. It was a really good musical I loved it and so did the others we went with. As the girls bought the tickets on the day of the show, we got them for cheap. Sure we didn’t have the greatest seats in the house but you could see everything going on and they only cost us £20 each.
Bought a New BBQ
I have to write about how we got a new BBQ, we used to have a crappy old coal BBQ where you had to heat the beads up for 30 mins before you could cook and then if you had people over it died down so you had to add more coals and stuff, it was annoying and I usually ate 2 hrs after starting the thing. So we decided it is coming up to summer we will buy a good one as we will be spending more time out the back. We bought a single burner BBQ with lava rocks on top to still give it the BBQ taste. For a BBQ and bottle it was expensive in Aussie dollars but does what we want and we love it.
Mel Leaving
Our Australian house mate and best buddy has left to travel around Europe on her way home. We were not there for her big farewell party, we had a little one before we left to go to Egypt. We were lucky enough to catch up with her in Heathrow airport as our plane landed from Egypt. She did not have to leave for a few hrs after our landing so we got to meet up and have a chat and a sad good bye.
New housemates
With Mel gone we have received a new house mate. Ellie she is Aussie and a nurse and good fun. Around the beginning of April we got new house mates an Aussie Married couple from QLD Simon and Shelly, they have take Jen and Katarinas room
( Kiwi and Swedish).
